Don't miss the watermelon seed spitting contest!

It's a fabulous small town festival where friends and family meet to share in the food, fun and entertainment! Many local organizations will be there with assorted goodies to raise funds for their causes; including the Methodist Men, Boy Scouts, Sports Boosters, Chamber of Commerce, Girard Fire Dept., Masonic Lodge, Pleasant Hill Village, Music Boosters and more. Evening hours feature live entertainment on the main stage in the city park and in the beer tent on Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday evening is our locally famous "Miss Girard Pageant and Show" where we choose a young lady to represent the City of Girard for the next year, and we feature several groups of school age children singing and dancing, as well as other local talent. There are plenty of activities for the kids including rides, Kiwanis games, a watermelon seed spitting contest and a pedal tractor pull.

Mark your calender! We'll all gather Friday, Saturday and Sundy, July 25th, 26th and 27th in the city park. Don't miss out on the food, fun and entertainment! Thank you for supporting all those involved in the annual celebration.

Not just a Rockabilly revival…It’s a Rock n’ Roll Evolution!

Musically and conceptually The Neverly Brothers bridge the gap between 50s rockabilly and early 60s British invasion as they take you on a retro-sonic express train ride from Bowling Green, Kentucky to Liverpool, England…and back!.

The Neverly Brothers are not an “oldies cover band,” nor are they a tribute act. They are a very unique and exciting retro-sonic concept…AND ABOVE ALL THEY ARE TRUE ENTERTAINERS! Their enthusiastic stage show will transport you back in time on a virtual tour of one of the most exciting unexplored phases in pop music history: the transition of rock n’ roll from its American Rockabilly roots to the British Invasion.

Their song sequence & selection, accompanied by narrative historical footnotes, will illustrate how the music and energy of the 1950s American Rockabilly & Rock n’ Roll pioneers set the stage for the adventurous young bands of the British Invasion movement. Their repertoire consists of show-stopping renditions of early hits by The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and many other artists who shaped rock n' roll during the years 1955 through 1965.
